LV Bag Review

Does anyone remember their first paycheck? I will never forget feeling the feeling of getting mine. I honestly felt like I had just hit the jackpot… which looking back I can’t help but chuckle a little bit as I now realize it really wasn’t all that much. Nonetheless, I felt like someone had just handed me a million dollars. So I did what any other responsible young lady fresh out of college would do, spend all of it.  haha

I had always told myself that with my first “big girl” paycheck I would buy myself a designer handbag. I knew exactly which one I wanted. It would be my first but, certainly not last Louis Vuitton purchase. I’ve wanted the LV speedy bag for years and there was practically no talking me out of it. I had my mind made up but, I wish I would have put a little more thought into considering other styles looking back. I have gotten a lot of questions about the size and style I have so I thought I would just make a post about it! So I hope this helps you determine whether this might be a great bag for you or if you might want to think about some other options too.

Classic Style: This bag is a LV staple and is one of the brands most iconic styles. I love the look of this bag and how it makes even a t-shirt and jean shorts chic and classy.

Quality: This brand is known for quality. They are historically very well made and if it doesn’t withstand your normal wear and tear for some reason, just take it in and they will see what they can do to repair your damages if it falls under their warranty.

Price: In the grand scheme of luxury handbags you are not going to find a better deal. Considering it is one of the biggest luxury companies on the planet, it is still relatively affordable compared to other iconic bags in the same ranks. Brands with just as much of a following and history behind it will typically set you back a couple thousand dollars. This particular style starts at $890. (going up from there depending on the size)

Space: I chose this size , the speedy 35, because I thought it was a happy medium. Not too big and not too small. It seemed to have a ton of room inside and for someone like me who caries a TON of stuff in their bag (i.e. almost every lipstick I own) I thought it was the perfect size .

The handles: The same reason I bought this bag is the #1 reason I often regret this decision. Since I carry so much in my bag, I usually have marks on my arms after carrying it for an extended amount of time (ouch) it’s very uncomfortable although, it looks very cute on. If you are the type of girl who loves a shoulder or cross body bag so you can be hands free this is NOT the bag for you. Unless, you would just like it in your collection.

Interior: This bag has absolutely zero compartments. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Did I mention how much I usually cary in my purse? A lot. When carrying this bag I am constantly digging around for whatever it is I need for way longer than I would like to be. I hate not having any pockets to store lipstick, wallet, or whatever else I feel to necessary to go into a pocket in order to get to it fast. There is none of that with this bag.

For me , the likes out weigh the dislikes. I still reach for this bag almost every time I am walking out the door. It is so versatile and goes with everything. Looking back I would have just gone with the Bandouliere bag instead of just the original speedy. It seems to me that style would solve my issues with this bag. Check it out here

  1. I have the same bag and had the same issue with the interior structure. I purchased an organizer on Etsy and it has been a game. changer. There are several that are made just for the Speedy bags – it not only gives you tons of compartments/storage, but also protects the interior. You might give it a shot!
