Drugstore Lipstick

I haven’t done a beauty post on here in awhile so today I’m sharing a drugstore lipstick I found that I love. I’m typically not a drugstore makeup girl at all so, that should tell you this brands liquid lippies are worth your $. Trust me I am all about saving a few dollars but, when it comes to makeup , I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. Does that mean I’m telling you that you just have to have every shade of Tom Fords $60 lipsticks or you just might as well not even bother? NO! I am not saying higher price always means higher quality but in my experience, for most things makeup – especially my lipsticks, I can tell a huge difference in color payoff, consistency, and over all quality of the shade I’m wearing when I opt for a name brand lipstick that might be a few more dollars.

But when I tried this Milani liquid matte, it was a game changer. Pretty sure what initially sold me was the cupcake smell as I swiped it on my hand to try. Anything that smells that good deserves a purchase.

This shade I’m wearing is a little out of my comfort zone to grab for multiple reasons. First being that it is flaming coral- ya’ll this girl right here has about 190234298 shades of nude pinks and that’s about it! So why I reached for this one amongst a sea of nudes and mauve is a sheer miracle of the LORD’s doing. haha  But praise Jesus hallelujah I did because I am in love with this shade now. It brightens up my face and is a perfect pop of color for spring. Also if you have green eyes like me it reaallly made my eyes stand out. Another reason this color is unlike me is because although it is matte (my go to) it has a shimmer/glitter to it. I typically don’t like glittery shades because I can physically feel the grittiness of the glitter on my lips- not with this one. Milani nailed this texture and from the looks of the other shimmer mattes they have , they are all like that. I will warn that this particular one didn’t stand a chance when I started eating lunch. You will definitely have to re apply after consuming food or drinks and for me it was not a long lasting wear. You will for sure need to reapply a few times but most lipsticks are like that anyways.

But the moral of the story is their line of liquid mattes have my stamp of approval and are definitely on the higher end of drugstore quality. I am really impressed and will have to try a few more products from their brand- I’ll keep ya’ll posted.

Do ya’ll have any favorite drugstore products that I should try? Leave me a comment and let me know!
