Zoës Kitchen

I discovered Zoës Kitchen about 7 months ago when my best friend, Suz , asked to meet me there for lunch. I rolled my eyes at first because I was not in the mood to try something new. Her response? “have my taste buds ever led you astray?”. As a matter of fact no. No, they have never led me astray so, off to Zoës we went. After an extensive glance at the menu and, a little guidance from my food sensei Suz , a chicken kabob changed my life.

I tend to be a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to the most important things in life: makeup and food. (HA! but seriously ya’ll)  For instance I haven’t changed my mascara since the 7th grade – talk about a committed relationship. I love trying new makeup but sometimes it pains me to part with my trusty tube of goodness cause I know good and well the new mascara I’m trying just can’t beat the history I have with my old flame! We all know the saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!” Same theory goes for me when I am at some of my favorite restaurants. I get the same thing every time. Anyone else have their “go to’s” at particular places? For me it’s because I want to guarantee that I love my choice every time. And truly I can’t think of two greater loves in my life than food and makeup. Can I get an amen?

So what does all this have to do with how a chicken kabob changed my life that day? Well I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic is in their “spice of life” seasoning but its like as I dumped a can of it on my greek salad a switched flipped and my world turned to color. I wanted all the things on the menu. Now instead of having my usual menu item I try something different every time I go. Who even am I these days?  But I am telling you what sister, I don’t even care! It’s like everything I try is my new favorite thing and the best part is: all menu items are made from scratch daily and it’s so fresh and healthy. Basically I can eat at Zoës every single day and not fear that I am skimping out on my wedding dress diet while at the same time feel like I am indulging in some good ole fast casual Mediterranean food. #blessed.

But for the love of all that’s holy PLEASE try the Zesty Lemon cookie. You can thank me later.
